The Swan House
This engineering marvel sits at the south end of Silver Lake Hills. Conforming to the strict structural hillside building codes of Los Angeles, the cantilevered studio projects above the garage toward the Boulevard. The hillside is contained by continuous retaining walls around the property, ranging from four feet to eighteen feet in height. A 28-foot Fleetwood siding door system opens the living room completely to the urban hills side landscape. The indoor-outdoor nature of this house is balanced by the privacy-centric design.
